It happened at around 3:30am on the North Loop near Ella. Police say a car crashed into a truck, causing it to strike the police car.
The truck driver was not injured. The driver of the car was arrested for outstanding warrants.
Police say it does not appear as if alcohol or speed were involved in the crash.
