Houston police said they are investigating two hit-and-run crashes -- one in west Houston and the other in the Midtown area -- that killed two people.
Three hit-and-run incidents took place this week in Houston - with all of them being deadly. One of the victims' daughter said she knows there's hundreds of cases but is asking for the suspect in her father's case to step forward.
At the scene, deputies said they found a pedestrian in the roadway with no signs of life. Investigators don't know who struck Jones, but they found parts from the suspect vehicle at the scene.
HPD said the wanted driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian on Cullen Boulevard had fled the scene before police arrived. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Little Juan Suarez has a long road to recovery after the crash in northeast Houston. Meanwhile, his family claims the other driver was being pursued by HPD.
Officials reported finding car parts at the scene, indicative of being involved in the crash. Serial numbers on the parts were traced to a 2019-2021 Honda Civic.
