Firefighters busy battling different fires

Arson teams were called to two separate house fires overnight. The first of those happened around 10pm at a home on Balantine and Winthrop in southeast Houston. Firefighters found smoke and fire coming from a stairwell inside the home. They knocked out the fire quickly but say it's suspicious because the home does not have electricity.

The other fire happened about an hour earlier on Dan and Clarence in the north Houston area.

Firefighters found fire and smoke coming from the one story home but put out the flames before they spread to the entire home. The people who live there were not at home at the time. No one got hurt.
