Teen injured due to fight at school

A student was injured as a result of a fight at Clear Creek High School.According to officials, there was fight between two boys at the school during lunchtime. A 16-year-old boy who was involved in the incident was struck and hit his head as he fell the floor. He was knocked unconscious.

Life Flight and other emergency crews were called to the scene. The boy was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. No other injuries were reported.

It's not clear what sparked the fight. One student is in custody with the Galveston County Sheriff's Department. No charges have been announced at this time. An investigation is underway.

The school was not placed on lockdown. Students were held in classrooms while the paramedics came in to assist the injured teen.

Extra officers were brought onto the campus as a precaution today. There were no further incidents, and students were dismissed at the normal time.
