Surveillance video of suspect in the killing of deputy constable
BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) -- Investigators are looking into defendants who crossed paths with Assistant Chief Deputy Clint Greenwood as a possible suspect in the tragic ambush killing that took place early Monday morning.
Police released new surveillance video of a possible suspect wanted in connection with the shooting death.
In the video above, a man is walking by the courthouse outside. Soon after that he walks by the same surveillance camera going the other direction.
In the second video, he walks by at a faster pace. Investigators say the video shows the suspect walking by moments before and after the shooting.
The video's timestamp is incorrect and shows it was taken at a later time.
Baytown PD said it was actually around 7 a.m. on Monday, which was around the time of the shooting.
Investigators were able to gather a suspect description.
He is described as a white or Hispanic man, at least 6 foot with a stocky build. He was wearing a jacket with a patch on it. From the video released to Eyewitness News, the image of the patch is not clear.
Monday, police released surveillance video of the suspect's vehicle. It's a dark vehicle. It appears to be a hatchback. Investigators do not know the make or model.

His nephew, Andrew Smith, said his uncle is greatly missed.
"He was just a great man. A good family man. He loved his community. I liked going to see him on holidays," said Andrew Smith, Greenwood's nephew.
Greenwood had a 30-year career in law enforcement, much of it involved in police misconduct and internal affairs investigations. Prior to working at the Pct. 3 Constable's Office, Greenwood worked in Internal Affairs at the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Earlier, he worked in the Harris County District Attorney's Office.
For now, Houston Crime Stoppers, the FBI, the Office of the Governor's Criminal Justice Division and a concerned citizen are offering a combined reward of $65,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person or persons involved in Greenwood's murder.

It will be held Thursday, April 6 at Second Baptist Church on 6400 Woodway Dr.
Visitation will open up to the general public at 10:00 a.m., while services will begin at 11:00 a.m.

This all began around 7:05 a.m. Monday when someone fired and hit Deputy Greenwood in the neck as he was arriving for work at the Baytown courthouse complex. Nearby residents heard the shots.

Another deputy nearby rushed to his aid, applying pressure to Greenwood's neck. He was flown via Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

For hours, investigators combed through the blood-stained SUV driven by Greenwood. A police radio covered in blood was visible in the dashboard. Bullets had shattered the windows.
There has been a GoFundMe account set for Greenwood.
Gov. Greg Abbott released a statement about Greenwood:
"My heart goes out to the family and friends of Assistant Chief Deputy Greenwood and the Harris County law enforcement community in the wake of this heinous murder. Texas is taking action to strengthen penalties for those brazen enough to commit crimes against law enforcement, and we will send a message that such vile acts will not be tolerated in the Lone Star State. I am confident the perpetrator of this despicable act will be apprehended and that the murderer will be met with swift justice."
