Four suspects charged in beating of NBA legend's son outside Houston nightclub

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Four men on the run are accused of attacking an NBA legend's son, Moses Malone Jr.

According to court records, prosecutors say Moses Malone Jr. was confronted because of a Facebook comment he made about Rockets superstar James Harden.

Four men were charged in connection with an attack against Malone at the V-Live club.

"It's my understanding it's an after- hours club," said George Farah, Mose Malone Jr.'s attorney.

Farah says it was at V-Live that his client was attacked by a group of men who were upset with what Malone Jr. posted about the Rockets star.

"The post basically referenced the fact that James Harden was charging $250 for a basketball camp," Farah said.

In the post, Malone Jr. was critical of the cost of the camp. After posting that, he says he started getting text messages including one that Malone Jr. claims is from someone close to Harden.

"Mr. Malone did receive some texts from close friends of Mr. Harden stating, 'Why did you do that?'"

A day after the post, Malone Jr. says a group of people with guns beat him and robbed him, taking $15,000 of jewelry.

Police have charged four men with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, including Darian Blount, who according to the charging document worked security for the club, and the three other men: Deavion Lewis, Oscar Wattell and Kavon Boutte.

We reached out to HPD about this incident. They would not say whether or not Harden was there that night.

There is no indication that Harden was involved in the incident. He has not been charged with any crime or accused of any wrong doing.

We reached out to Harden's publicists, and the Rockets, numerous times. They have not returned our calls or e-mails.

As for the four suspects, they are not in custody, but there are warrants out for their arrest.

We also reached out to the V-Live nightclub and their attorney said none of the people charged with this crime work at V-Live.
