It happened around 7am in the northbound lanes of Highway 59. The van was transporting inmates from the Connelly unit in Kennedy to the Jester 4 unit in Richmond when it rolled over.
In all, five people were on board -- three inmates and two sergeants.
All five were taken to the hospital in El Campo. At this point, we don't know their conditions.
We're told the sergeant driving may have had a medical emergency.
