Eight-year-old Max Vertin suffers from muscular dystrophy. The disease is slowly robbing his muscles of their abilities. Doctors said he would likely be in a wheelchair by age 9.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation helped make Max's wish come true by setting him up with a vertical wind tunnel. The 100-plus mph winds helped him fly like a superhero.
Seeing such a big smile on his face brought his mother to tears.
"It's just an amazing organization with so many volunteers, and just good people," Betty Vertin said. "I am happy, it is a good day, I think it's just kinda all crashing down on me."
Max even got to take pictures with a man in a real Iron Man suit as the crowd cheered him on.
