It happened on the East Freeway near Lockwood.
Police say the driver of a pickup was going southbound on Sackowitz when he crashed through a barrier and landed on the Lockwood exit ramp. A big rig on the ramp slammed right into the pickup. The pickup driver died at the scene.
The driver of the big rig was not hurt.
