Mardi Gras parades take over Galveston

HOUSTON

The first happened at 11am Saturday at the public school stadium on 24th Street and Avenue L. The Z-Krewe 20th Z-Processional began at 1pm, followed by the Neauz Krewe Parade and the Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler Parade.

And all that fun led up to the big annual Knights of Momus Grand Night Parade, which is Galveston's largest parade. It began at Seawall Boulevard and 23rd Street and featured 25 floats and 20 marching bands. The theme of this year's parade was a tribute to pop culture.

Officials expect a record number of people attended this year's parade.
