The alleged abuse happened in November 2013, according to court documents. Aracely Salinas, 44, is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14 years of age.
Two boys, ages six and nine, told police that when Salinas was babysitting them while their mother was at work one evening, she reportedly took them to her apartment and forced them to perform sexual acts. The boys told police they were crying and begging her to stop making them do so.
The boys' mother told Eyewitness News that she knew something was wrong when her boys suddenly refused to go to Salinas' apartment.
Pablo Rodriguez lives right next door to the suspect. He says she often offered to watch his two-year-old son but something about her made him and his wife stay away. After hearing the news of Salinas' arrest, he says he knows he made the right decision.
Salinas is in custody, held on $60,000 bond.
The victims' mother says she hopes what happened to her children serves as a lesson to other parents. Listen to your kids, she says, they speak the truth.
