According to a report from ABC7 San Francisco, the abuse started in the late 1990s when the girl came to live with Raul Ochoa at age 13. It ended when she finally was able to escape in August 2012 at age 27.
The 52-year-old sexually abused and kept his relative away from the rest of the world for 14 years.
Ochoa reportedly built a shed in the back yard where most of the sexual abuse occurred. It has since been torn down.
There were other people in the house, including Ochoa's wife and children, who officials said also lived in fear of him.
On Wendesday, Ochoa pleaded guilty to one count of forced lewd acts on a child and two counts of forcible rape.
