The 16-year-old juvenile was taken into custody Thursday morning and is currently in the custody of the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department.
The incident happened on November 19. The video shows two Cypress Creek High School students talking. Then the 16-year-old gir hits and kicks Shamichael Manuel, 17, in front of a crowd of spectators.
That video was posted online and soon went viral.
