An HCC officer responding to a call Monday afternoon ended up discharging his weapon.

It happened on the campus just south of downtown.

HCC officers were responding to a domestic disturbance call. When they arrived, they say they saw a man assaulting a woman. Officers told the man to stop, but he reportedly ignored them and got into his white Chevy Impala instead. When he threw the Impala in reverse, both officers fired at the car multiple times, stopping the man.

No one was injured in the gunfire, and the suspect was taken into custody.

We're told both the suspect and victim were students at HCC.
