Salvation Army opening shelters to those seeking refuge from cold

HOUSTON

According to the group, the Harbor Light Center and its other facilities are already preparing to serve a higher number of people who need shelter from the low temperatures this week.

Anyone who spends the night at a Salvation Army shelter also will be offered warm meals, a warm place to sleep, and access to information about additional resources available to them through The Salvation Army.

The 124-year-old nonprofit organization depends on the contributions of individual donors and corporations to operate various programs and services, including its shelters.

The Harbor Light Center is located at 2407 North Main. To find other shelters in the area, visit the Salvation Army's website.
