The tree fell before 6am near Crestwood on the east end of Memorial Park.
The top of the tree is blocking at least one inbound lane of traffic. Houston police has a patrol car at the scene to help direct traffic.
A crew has arrived and the process of removing the tree from the lane of traffic is underway.
