A French farmer claims mucus found in snails is full of collagen, glycolic acid and other compounds that regenerate the skin. That farmer is now helping create the first full-scale snail mucus extraction operation. He hopes to harvest 15-tons of snail mucus every year.
Several cosmetic companies have signed contracts with him. Snail mucus products are already sold in Asia but have yet to catch on in the western world.
