Man accused of robbing four places in less than 24 hours

HOUSTON

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched around 11:30pm Tuesday to a restaurant in the 500 block of Normandy after they received a report about someone trying to break into the business with a knife. They arrived in time to catch Nathaniel Ilagan as he returned to his vehicle.

Ilagan was arrested at a the scene, and later identified as the suspect who allegedly robbed four other nearby businesses the day before.

According to the sheriff's office, his crime spree started around 2am Monday at a convenience store in the 700 block of Normandy. They say Ilagan entered the store, threatened the clerk and took some cash before running off.

About four hours later, Ilagan allegedly entered a dry cleaners in the 14000 block of Woodforest, pulled out a knife and told the employee, "Give me all the money." The employee handed him cash and he fled the scene.

Then around 4:30pm, a hair salon in the 400 block of Uvalde was hit. Deputies say a by knife-wielding Ilagan demanded cash from an employee and took off running.

Less than two hours later, a dry cleaners in the 14000 block of Woodforest reported a robbery identical to the others.

Ilagan now faces a charge of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
