A Customs and Border Protection helicopter with apparent main rotor blade damage has made a safe landing in South Texas.

Customs officials say nobody was injured in the emergency landing Tuesday afternoon in a vacant lot in the border town of Roma.

Authorities are investigating how the helicopter was damaged while on patrol and assisting agents on the ground.

Messages left with a CBP official and the Federal Aviation Administration weren't immediately returned Wednesday.
