Trucking co. owner sues DEA, Harris Co. over botched drug sting

HOUSTON

You may remember the violent scene unfolded in northwest Houston just off of Highway 290. An informant was killed and an undercover deputy injured when an 18-wheeler was ambushed by three or four armed men.

Craig Patty, the owner of that 18-wheeler, claims he was unaware the driver he hired was an informant who would be using his property in a drug sting. The suit claims the DEA refused to make repairs to the bullet riddled truck, and that Patty's family now lives in fear of cartel retaliation.

The DEA is not commenting on the suit.
