Police in Conroe say a suspected rapist wanted in connection with two weekend attacks has turned himself in.

Otis Mitchell, 22, is accused of threatening two women with a knife and then raping them last weekend.

"One was on the apartment complex grounds, just walking around and the second was right in front of her apartment," said Sgt. Dorcy Riddle with the Conroe Police Department.

The two attacks happened just hours apart. The first was in the 900 block of Bellshire. Police say Mitchell asked a 22-year-old woman to borrow her cell phone. She agreed to help him and then he attacked her.

Afterward, Mitchell apparently made his way to the 1100 block of South 7th Street two miles away. There, police say he asked a 40-year-old woman for a cigarette, then asked to use her restroom. He raped her after she let him into her apartment.

Mitchell is facing two charges of aggravated sexual assault. He turned himself in to police Tuesday afternoon.
