AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average unleaded price at the pump dropped to $3.36 per gallon. The price is 30 cents less than what motorists were paying at this time last year.
The average national per-gallon price is $3.55.
AAA Texas says drivers in Amarillo are paying the most in Texas at $3.44, while their counterparts in Beaumont, El Paso and Fort Worth are paying the least at $3.32.
Analysts say retail gas prices are expected to continue falling thanks to weakening demand coupled with plentiful supplies and a switch to cheaper winter-blend gas.
