The sheriff's office got a call from the child's grandmother, reporting the boy missing. A short time later, the boy's body was found in a nearby pond.
Authorities recovered the child and performed CPR, but it was too late.
Investigators believe the child had been in the water 30 to 40 minutes before he was found.
The Liberty County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
