Joseph Smith, 21, is charged with capital murder in connection to the death of 31-year-old Hong Le.
Police say Le's body was discovered February 12, 2012 in the back of a vacant duplex on Dairy Brook. He was wearing only a single sock. A 1997 Honda Civic, believed to be related to the incident, was also found nearby.
Detectives say their investigation led them to Smith, and he was charged with murder on Monday.
Smith was already at the Harris County Jail on a charge of robbery.
