The accident happened sometime after 7pm in the 7700 block of Pine Center Drive near Royal Gardens Drive.
Authorities say two children were biking in the street, and one of them was struck by an oncoming white GMC pickup truck as they tried to cross the street.
"The driver of a truck that was turning southbound on Royal Shadows, either didn't see her or she pulled out in front of him. He struck her with the truck and ran over her," Harris County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Mike Harvey said.
The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital via LifeFlight. We're told the little girl is in critical condition.
The driver remained on scene. Investigators say they don't think he was speeding and he did not seem to be impaired.
An investigation is ongoing.
