Police say the motorcycle rear-ended an SUV on the Gulf Freeway near Edgebrook.
The motorcycle ended up on the feeder road, prompting the closure of all the northbound mainlanes and the feeder for several hours.
Investigators believe the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, but was traveling too fast.
The driver of the SUV was not hurt.
