Kathi was voted Telecommunicator of the year by GHC 911 twice in 2004 & 2010. . Kathi was recognized by MASO in 2011 for Outstanding Communications Officer of the year. She was also awarded Outstanding Professionalism of the year 2012 by Sheriff Adrian Garcia. Kathi received her Master dispatcher certification in 2013. She currently holds the position of 911 Coordinator where she is the Liaison between GHC911 and Harris County Sheriff's Office.

She has worked through numerous disasters such as Tropical Storm Allison, and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita where she was assigned to the Astrodome with the Mobile Command Unit. During Hurricane Ike she was deployed for 72 days while the City of Seabrook was reconstructed.
