Maverick County and Eagle Pass leaders on Monday night announced a major highway -- Thompson Road -- has been cleared, inspected and reopened.
The weather has improved during recovery efforts. The National Weather Service says Tuesday's forecast for Eagle Pass includes mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 90s.
Officials say the Red Cross will continue to partner with the Salvation Army to provide food to shelter residents at Eagle Pass Junior High School.
