Prosecutors say Ashley Richards and Brent Justice tortured animals on camera for money in a genre known as "crush videos." The two were originally indicted on federal charges but a judge threw them out citing first amendment free speech rights.
The state re-indicted the pair on animal cruelty charges. They remained in the Harris County Jail Thursday evening.
