Karina Camarena, 27, is charged with injury to a child.
According to court documents, Camarena's seven-year-old son told investigators that his mother slapped his bottom and face with a shoe on April 9. The boy was hit so hard his face turned red and bruised.
The boy's nine-year-old sister told authorities that she was also spanked by her mother on the arm with a sandal and choked the same day. The girl's twin sister said that she's also been smacked with a shoe by her mom.
All three children told detectives this was not the first time their mother had spanked them. One of the twin girls also claimed she's once been punched by her mother.
The young boy told investigators he's now living with his father while the twin sisters said they'd prefer to live with their grandmother over Camarena.
