It happened at a 4,000-square foot home on Parsons Green Court off Fry Road near Interstate 10.
According to the West I-10 Volunteer Fire Department, the chimney collapsed toward the back of the house. That caused the roof to collapse toward the master bedroom.
Two people were inside the house at the time, but they were able to get out unharmed.
Officials were working late Sunday to stabilize the house. West I-10 VFD activated a Harris County emergency response which included technical rescue units from Baytown.
