Stafford police say the man was standing next to his vehicle on the main lanes of northbound Highway 59 near W. Airport when he was hit by another driver. He was transported to the hospital via LifeFlight where he was in critical condition.
Police did not yet know why the victim was outside of his vehicle.
The driver did stop at the scene and was not seriously injured. No charges are expected in the case.
