The following statement was released Monday:
"President Bush's recovery is continuing at The Methodist Hospital, where in recent days he has taken great pride watching big football wins by Texas A&M and the Houston Texans. While no immediate timeline has been set for the President's discharge, the Bushes wish to thank everyone for their many kind messages."
He was hospitalized on November 23, 2012 for treatment of a bronchitis-related cough. He was moved to intensive care at the Houston hospital on Dec. 23 after he developed a fever.
Bush, the 41st president, is the country's oldest living former president by a few months.
