Police say Adam Robert Puente admitted to stealing company credit cards from parked fleet trucks of his company, then going to several area gas stations, filling up non-company vehicles and offering half-priced gas to customers in exchange for cash. According to police, Puente told them he did this for nearly two months starting in September and received between $2,000 and $3,000.
The company claims the amount of fraudulent charges made by Puente to company credit cards was $17,500.
Investigators say the date and times of the credit card transactions match surveillance video of the defendant at the gas station.
Puente, 30, is charged with aggregate theft.
