Just before 5am, the driver crashed into a ditch along the southbound feeder road of 59 and Highway 242 in Patton Village.
A DPS trooper originally tried to pull him over for going 80 miles per hour in a 50 mile per hour zone. He drove through Kingwood before ditching his car and making a run for it in those woods.
He was eventually caught with a big scratch on his arm from the branches.
