A spokeswoman for the McKinney Fire Department says a utility crew apparently hit the line Tuesday morning. Stacie Durham says six people on the site when the accident happened.
Dallas-based Atmos (AT'-muhs) Energy had no immediate details on the fiery accident and damage to its line in a rural area near U.S. 75.
Heavy equipment and other vehicles at the scene caught fire.
McKinney is about 30 miles north of Dallas.
