Several lanes reopen on E. Sam Houston Parkway following chemical spill

HOUSTON

Emergency crews got a report about a spill of a toxic chemical on Beltway 8 near Jacinto. HaZmat discovered it was the chemical amines, which is a gasoline by-product.

About 275 gallons of the chemical leaked from a truck.

The driver, two toll booth workers and a passerby were exposed to the vapors and had to be treated. They'll be OK.

All northbound and southbound lanes of the tollway were shut down during the cleanup. This morning, they opened back up.
