Andrea Mozelle Elam is charged with theft from a person - elderly. Detectives say on May 13, she stole stole a pair of $700 earrings from a woman living at the northwest Harris County senior home care faciliy where she works.
Detectives say the victim's daughter went to the facility on Mother's Day to give her mother the present and take her out to dinner. The victim put the gold earrings on top of her dresser and left with her daughter. When she returned to the facility, her earrings were gone.
Detectives later tracked the earrings down at a pawn shop. Surveillance footage allegedly showed Elam's boyfriend pawning it off.
After further investigation, detectives decided to charge Elam with theft.
