It happened around 12:45am on Mesa near Sterlingshire in northeast Houston. Investigators say she was riding with her boyfriend in his car when an altercation happened. That's when police say the man shot her in the thigh before leaving her on the road and fleeing the scene.
Police describe him as a Hispanic male driving a red, two-door sports car. The victim's name has not been released.
