It happened around 2am at the Wal-Mart on FM 1960 at Walters. Investigators say the victim was at the gas pump when an unknown man approached him and began shooting him. The victim left the gas station in his truck, but returned to the store for help.
The suspect fled the scene. Investigators are trying to determine a motive for the shooting.
