Man accused of kidnapping, assaulting woman he dated

HOUSTON

Kendrick Tamon Smith, 36, is charged with kidnapping. According to court documents, back on March 3, Smith and the victim were out to dinner. After dinner, the two went back to Smith's home in the 6600 block of Dunlap Street.

The victim told police that inside his home, Smith began to accuse her of cheating and wanted to check her cell phone. He reportedly found messages he said were sexual in nature and began yelling at the victim.

According to court documents, Smith punched the victim in the face and began to choke her. The victim told investigators that during the struggle, she was able to grab a bottle opener and stab him in the arm, but that he kept choking her and even bit her on the cheek.

She says she was held in his home against her will until the next day. The victim reportedly told Smith she needed to eat, so he took her to a nearby restaurant, where the victim was able to contact the manager. That manager then called police.

If you know Smith's whereabouts, you're asked to call police.

As for the victim, court documents say she was taken to Methodist Hospital with a fractured nose, facial lacerations and head trauma.
