We're now getting a look at the driver police say caused the crash. Melton Lee Brown is facing intoxication assault charges and DWI. Records show it's his third time to be charged with DWI.
Investigators say Brown was pulling a boat with his pickup and clipped a family's SUV on Highway 105. The SUV flipped, and the boy was thrown out of SUV and landed 80 feet away.
The boy is recovering in a hospital.
Brown, 64, also has three indecent exposure convictions.
