Sheriff's deputies say the man was riding across FM 529 near Jackrabbit at about 10:10pm Tuesday. He was struck by a car and left in the middle of the road. Another person saw the bicyclist in the street and called for help.
The 58-year-old man was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Police are now searching for the driver.
