In February 2010, a runaway construction truck had run into Doug Edmisten's house when he was home from Iraq for his son's birth, The Knoxville News Sentinel reported.
Edmisten says he, his wife and their son were visiting family when his neighbor called and said, "Merry Christmas. There's a van in your house."
The vehicle belonged to a neighbor, who told police he'd been working on the vehicle's brakes.
The last time, the Edmisten family spent 65 days in a motel while the damage was repaired. Edmisten figures they'll celebrate their son's second birthday at a motel.
