It happened Sunday night at the Rockport Apartments on Nairn. Police say the guard had warned a group of men several times that they were playing music too loudly. The guard eventually got into an argument in the parking lot, in which both he and the suspect pulled guns.
Police say the guard shot a witness who was trying to help in the arm. The other man then shot and killed the guard and ran away.
The witness had only minor injuries.
