Federal prosecutors say 17 people accused of being members of the prison-based Texas Syndicate gang have been indicted on racketeering-related charges.

The indictment unsealed Thursday in San Antonio includes charges of murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and drug trafficking. Authorities say four slayings since 2008 have been linked to the gang members.

Investigators say the last of the six suspects still on the loose were arrested during a raid Thursday.

The investigation began last year with a traffic stop in Bexar (bayr) County that led to the seizure of an undisclosed amount of drugs.
