Stanford is accused of running a $7 billion ponzi scheme. He was beaten by another prison inmate in 2009, and became addicted to prescription drugs in prison.
A judge found him incompetent to stand trial last January, and he was ordered into treatment. Stanford's trial is set to begin in January.
