According to the Galveston County Daily News, BP says the tank has been leaking a natural gas additive for a few days. But shifting winds made the smell more noticeable yesterday.
The city says the leak is not dangerous, although the odor was so bad that 30 workers from a neighboring plant asked for medical attention. BP says it's trying to plug the leak.
