Back in May, a judge invalidated Nikki Araguz's marriage to Thomas Araguz because of her gender when they got married. That ruling banned her from receiving Thomas' death benefits after he was killed last year while battling a fire in Wharton.
Nikki Araguz is now fighting the judge's decision.
