It happened at FM 1960 at Treaschwig around 1am. The deputy involved in the accident says he noticed head lights coming at him from behind and braced for impact. The truck slammed into the deputy's pickup truck crime scene unit.
The deputy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The driver was arrested and taken downtown to be tested for alcohol.
